About

You may think that Lutsen Mountains is only a winter-time destination but this couldn’t be further from the truth.  There is at least one awesome warm-weather activity to look forward to. The Alpine Slide is the perfect way to get your speed-demon-fix while on the North Shore in the summer.

The half-mile slide twists and drops its way down the side of Lutsen Mountain with a manually controlled sled. You hop on the chairlift right after the bridge on the Ski Hill Road to the top of Eagle Mountain where you will be provided with a sled. Since you are in control, you can go full speed and enjoy the stomach-turning drops, or choose to take it slow and enjoy the beauty and sights surrounding the area, with spectacular Lake Superior as your backdrop.

It’s the to get your adrenaline fix on the tranquil North Shore. The slide is open from the end of May through mid to late October and is open to all ages. Children ages 2-5 ride free with a paid adult and children under 48” must be accompanied by an adult rider.

Getting There

Just turn out of the parking area and drive up the Ski Hill and under the bridge. It will be on your right as soon as you go under the bridge. Find somewhere to park and jump on the chairlift.
